John Rozic is seeking the office of Treasurer in Lucas County, Ohio. John proudly serves the City of Waterville as a Council Member. Elected to his second city council term in 2017, his current leadership role follows more than 20 years of service in education, youth organizations and city government.
John is a former member and past President of the Board of Education of the Anthony Wayne Local School District. He has served as the Secretary of the Anthony Wayne Youth Foundation, and is Treasurer and a Board member of the Anthony Wayne Youth Soccer League, where he also volunteered as a youth soccer coach for his children.
John and his wife, Debbie, have three children, each graduates of Anthony Wayne High School, and are active grandparents for their eight grandchildren. They have made their home in Waterville, Ohio, since 1980.
A native of Lorain, Ohio, John earned his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Case Western Reserve University in 1973, and his Juris Doctor from the University of Toledo College of Law in 1977. John is admitted to the Ohio Bar, the federal and state courts of Ohio, and the United States Court of Federal Claims. He is a member of the Toledo and Ohio State Bar Associations. During law school, he was a trust officer and director of the probate trust department of the former Toledo Trust Company.
John is a partner in the law firm of Shindler Neff LLP in Holland. He practices in the areas of estate planning, probate and trust administration, business, real estate, and tax law.
John is a fan of the Cleveland Browns, Indians, and Cavaliers, and The Ohio State University sports programs, as well as the Walleye, Mud Hens, and Rockets. A long-time bass guitar player, he plays rock and roll with the Toledo Bar Association band for its annual Jingle Balls fundraiser, and occasionally plays with The Free, which he started in high school with his bandmates in a garage in Lorain.
